Waffles are best when made to order, but baked waffles may be kept warm in a 200°F oven. Place in a baking pan or wrap in foil while in the oven. Waffles wrapped in foil may lose their crispiness. Baked waffles may be frozen. Allow to cool completely, then place in plastic food storage bag. Use waxed paper to keep waffles separated. Reheat in a toaster or toaster oven when ready to use.

We have grown tired of buying and eating frozen waffles. We bought this waffle maker based on it’s rating and price, and I have to say it is well worth the money spent. We have used it 3 times now and the waffles always come out perfect. Just make sure you don’t put more than 1/2 cup of batter in, or it will overflow. It’s simple to use, slide dial to your preferred doneness, green light comes on when hot, pour in batter, close lid , green light comes back on when waffles are done, waffles easily pop right out. They cook pretty fast, I’d say it takes about 2-3 minutes depending on how dark and crispy you like your waffles. It truely is nonsticks as it states and it is easy to wipe clean. Overall, so far I am in love with this machine and we plan to use it every weekend. If your a waffle lover and don’t want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for a machine, this is the one for you. This is my first cheap waffle maker and first time ever to make waffels. The Black & Decker G48TD is very well designed, takes up very little counter space, but makes 4 good size waffles, or two large pancakes, or 4 large pieces of french toast, at one time. Cleans well, if you follow the instructions of soaking the glill plates in soapy water. Cant beat the quality, functionallity, and price from Amazon. They say not to use Pam spray, but I do, and it work ok. Great deal

We have owned this B&D model for about 8 years and get great waffles every time. We’re buying two more for our sons. Some revIews complain of recent quality problems, I guess we’ll see. Here are two waffle cooking tips I use, learned from a 1939 GE model with no temp knob or anything. I plugged it in for 4 minutes and started cooking. 1.) Heat your waffle iron to the hottest waffle setting. When it’s preheated pour in your batter and start a timer for 4 minutes, don’t use the light on the machine. You can wait for the steaming to stop but that’s “iffy.” The first waffle will be a bit more done than the rest, which will be light golden. If you like them crisper, add 30 seconds or a minute to your timer. Time every waffle and ignore the light. Also-and most importantly-Never Wash Your Grill Plates!! Follow instructions for treating prior to first use. Then make waffles , clean exterior and put away until next time. You never have to clean the waffle side of the plates. Have butter in your recipe? Me too, doesn’t matter. Washing the thing means it never stops sticking. The 1939 model wasn’t washed for decades. (“OMG, you never washed it??”) They told you not to wash it! If you use the flat grill side and need to clean that one side, you may use a little soap and a sponge and/or paper towels. Use a wet one to rinse it. Take it from a good cook, we’ve become overly fanatic about washing things, and the waffle side will work for you unwashed. The coating and metal clips will last better too. Happy cooking!

Just wanted to say that Black & Decker G48TD waffle iron is great… My hubby and I have not had one in years and he got a yen for waffles. Read the reviews and sent off for it. Simple, easy, and does what it’s suppose to do – make waffles. They are crisp, good size, and we have figured out the exact amount of time it takes for our “liking”. Thanks Amazon! I just got this waffle iron the other day. I made waffles this morning and my kids lapped them up! I do wish they were bigger in size but to have all the characters on one is really great. The kids love picking out which ones they want and ate more then they normally would have eaten. I can’t wait to try cooking other things in this like the brownies. I thought they cooked really fast if set on the high (4) setting. It is very easy to clean and love they include a little scoop to help put the batter into the character molds. Highly recommend for any Disney fan.

I have had this for a little over a year. We use this product at least once a week. My kids love when I make pancakes and waffles in the Mickey Maker (as we call it). They are great and just the right size. My 5 year old can easily cut them in half to make them bite size for him, and my 2 year old likes to pick them up and eat them. I am a huge mickey fan. I love my Mickey maker! The kids have a blast helping me make them and they enjoy eating them while we are cooking them.
